The Kerman Province is the largest province of Iran and many know it as the land of pistachio. The ancient town of Kerman is the province’s capital. The weather is melting hot and dry here during the summer – avoid at all costs! – but lovely during the winter. You will see a lot of pistachio and pomegranate gardens here.
The province contains the historical cities of Jiroft, Zarand, Rafsanjan, Mahan, Sirjan, as well as the famous Bam Citadel, which is in the process of restoration.
Kerman province is home to Dasht-e Lut (aka Loot Desert), known at the hottest place on the planet.
