Iranian people are open to talking about their lives when they feel you are truly interested in them and not just being nosey.

Iranian / Persian conversations with tourists are ubiquitous. People are truly curious about foreign visitors. Right now, Iran is where Cuba or the former Eastern Block countries used to be decades ago when their people were truly interested in interacting with foreign visitors (and didn’t see them only as a source of income).

Remember this: you might come to Iran for the historical sites. But you’ll probably remember Iran for the unexpectedly warm interactions.
