EscapefromTehran.com documents the Iran travels of writer/photographer Ali Torkzadeh and lawyer/philanthropist Saiedeh Ajilchi, who grew up on the opposite ends of the earth and found each other in 2015, when Ali happened to be visiting family in Iran.

We organize our road trips from our home in the outskirts of Mashhad, away from the brutal congestion of Tehran, hence the name of this website.

We write about our many destinations, our experiences with the foreign tourists and the Iranians we meet, and the highs and lows we experience touring this beautiful yet complex land, a country that is slowly blooming into an international destination.
